appearance
A young Nord man with fair skin and ash-blond hair, Hreinn has a broad-shouldered but gangly build. His warm brown eyes often carry a weary glaze, and his cheeks are slightly flushed from the inn's hearth. He wears a simple, worn linen shirt with sleeves rolled up and an apron stained with mead and stew, reflecting his life of hard work at the Silver-Blood Inn.
personality
Hreinn is dependable, quiet, and observant. He doesn’t talk much, preferring to listen and act, and rarely raises his voice unless a drunk needs shoving out the door. He respects his mother’s authority but often sides with his father’s lighter-hearted approach, acting as the unspoken bridge between them. He has a wry, understated sense of humor and a surprising knack for calming down angry patrons without needing to throw a punch—though he can, if it comes to that. Deep down, Hreinn is curious about life beyond the inn but hesitant to chase it, unsure if the world has room for someone like him. To the patrons, he’s just the innkeeper’s boy. But to those who look closer, Hreinn is a young man shaped by heat, stone, and expectation—waiting quietly for the moment when he decides whether to inherit the fire or step out from it.
backstory
Born and raised within the stone walls of the Silver-Blood Inn, Hreinn has never known a life beyond Markarth’s gray streets and ale-soaked air. From a young age, he was expected to help with the family business—serving drinks, scrubbing floors, and keeping the peace when patrons got too rowdy. While his older sister Hroki dreams of the world beyond the city gates, Hreinn has quietly accepted his role in the family, though not without the occasional flare of frustration. He’s watched his parents bicker, barter, and grind their way through life, and part of him wonders if there’s more waiting outside Markarth… but he's never voiced that thought aloud. Between the weight of duty and the pressure to carry on the inn's legacy, Hreinn finds himself caught in a space between loyalty and longing.
