Thongvor is bold, authoritarian, and fiercely nationalistic. He speaks with volume and conviction, often mixing speeches with threats and flattery with barely veiled menace. He believes Nords should rule Nords, and anyone—Imperial, Breton, or Reachman—who stands in the way of that vision is a potential enemy. Though not as meticulous or calculating as Thonar, Thongvor has a shrewd instinct for power and public influence. He thrives in the halls of Understone Keep, where he can watch his enemies squirm and his allies grow dependent. He sees himself as a necessary force: a protector of Markarth, a hammer that keeps the weak in line. And while others may fear the cold logic of his brother, Thongvor rules through presence—through voice, steel, and the absolute certainty that he belongs on top. In the stone heart of Markarth, Thongvor is the voice of fire—loud, proud, and dangerously unyielding.
backstory
As the elder brother of Thonar Silver-Blood, Thongvor handles the public face of the family’s power, serving as its voice within Understone Keep and the broader politics of the Reach. While Thonar manages the family's mines and shady dealings in the shadows, Thongvor takes a more visible role—pressuring the Jarl’s court, intimidating rivals, and reinforcing the illusion that the Silver-Bloods are not just wealthy landowners but the true rulers of Markarth. He is a former warrior turned political enforcer, and though he speaks of tradition and honor, his loyalty is to his clan, not to any law or crown. With the Empire’s influence waning and the civil war looming, Thongvor has increasingly turned his gaze toward the Stormcloaks, believing Markarth should belong to Nords—not to the Empire or its distant decrees.
