appearance
A striking Redguard woman in her mid-thirties, Faleen has deep brown skin and an athletic frame that speaks to years of training. Her black hair is kept in tight braids that fall just past her shoulders, often tucked beneath her helm or tied back in a warrior’s tail. Her dark eyes are sharp and unwavering, exuding a stoic calm. She wears finely crafted steel plate armor bearing the sigil of Markarth, polished but clearly worn from use, and carries a sword at her hip, symbolizing her loyalty and readiness for battle.
personality
Faleen is stoic, fiercely loyal, and measured in all things. She speaks rarely, but when she does, her words are deliberate, low, and unshakable. She holds a quiet confidence born from battle-tested experience and prefers action over rhetoric. Though many in the court underestimate her due to her reserved demeanor, Faleen is always listening, always assessing, and never unprepared. She has little patience for political games and no tolerance for threats to her Jarl. Despite her rigidity, there is a quiet warmth beneath her exterior—seen in her rare but sincere moments of tenderness toward Calcelmo, the court mage, who has been infatuated with her for some time. Though she keeps her emotions guarded, Faleen is not without heart—just bound by duty. In a city where loyalties are bought or broken, hers is forged in steel and never wavers.
backstory
Faleen was born in the Hammerfell borderlands, raised amid constant border skirmishes and trained in martial combat from a young age. Her natural skill with the blade caught the attention of a passing Imperial officer, who offered her a place among the auxiliary forces during the tail end of the Great War. Though the conflict ended shortly after, her dedication and poise earned her postings in various holds until she found a permanent place in Markarth, handpicked by Jarl Igmund to serve as his housecarl. Trusted with the Jarl’s life and private affairs, Faleen acts as both bodyguard and advisor—one of the few voices in court who speaks without fear or flattery. Though her presence in a Nord-ruled city drew criticism at first, her performance silenced even the staunchest traditionalists.
