appearance
A stocky Orc woman with dark green skin, Ghorza gra-Bagol has arms like forged steel and a face hardened by years of hammering metal. Her black hair is tightly braided and streaked with ash, tied back beneath a leather headwrap. Scars crisscross her forearms and hands, and her deep amber eyes are sharp and appraising. Clad in a thick blacksmith’s apron over a sleeveless tunic, she carries herself with weathered pride, her movements grounded in strength and precision.
personality
Ghorza is blunt, disciplined, and deeply principled. She has little tolerance for laziness, empty flattery, or anyone who disrespects the forge. She speaks in a gravelly voice, her words clipped and direct, always laced with honesty, even if it stings. While many find her gruff, those who earn her respect discover a deeply loyal heart beneath the hammer-hard exterior. She’s especially protective of apprentices and young smiths, often offering gruff encouragement that sounds more like a challenge than praise. Ghorza is proud of her heritage, but not bound by it—she respects any who value skill and strength, no matter their race or rank. In a city ruled by gold and stone, Ghorza stands as a bastion of raw craft and quiet honor. She doesn't care who you are. If you want a weapon that won't fail when it matters—you come to her.
backstory
Ghorza grew up alongside her brother Moth gro-Bagol, both trained in the traditional craft of Orcish smithing. While Moth ascended to become the personal blacksmith of Jarl Igmund, Ghorza chose a different path—working the public forge, shaping steel for travelers, guards, and miners alike. Though her work may lack the prestige of her brother’s, Ghorza takes immense pride in serving the people directly, believing that true craftsmanship should be measured not by noble praise but by how well a blade holds up in a real fight. She’s lived in Markarth for decades, carving a reputation as one of the Reach’s finest smiths and mentoring the city’s apprentices—particularly those who lack privilege or name. Her workshop near the market clinks and roars from sunrise to sundown, a place where blades are born and gossip is forged alongside steel.
