personality
Jessamine has a kind and caring exterior but an unfeeling, cold heart. She will use her charm and good looks to get what she needs but ultimately it is for her eventual benefit. She cares for Ymezra.
backstory
Jessamine controls the trade of plants, herbs, poison, and sanctioned assassination. Murder is illegal in Port Nyanzaru but Jessamine has a monopoly on "sanctions", writs that allow an ordained killing. 12 years ago, Jessamine had a brief but torrid love affair with a sea captain that led to her shy daughter named Ymezra. Jessamine tutors Ymezra in the skills needed to take over the Merchant Prince title. Jessamine knows her days are numbered as she has the death curse which she hides as much as possible.
