When cast, you summon 40 stakes in the air to a point you can see within range they are sharp, crystallized stakes made of pure mana, each covered in eerie light purple flames. The stakes strike at a target within 60 feet of them. The stakes fly through the air, each one aiming to pierce the target. A creature targeted by a stake must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 piercing damage as the stake strikes them. On a successful save, the creature takes only half damage. Upon impact, if a stake hits or is triggered by a target, it explodes, releasing smaller stakes that fly in all directions. All creatures within 10 feet of the impact point must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 1d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful save. When you cast this spell using a 7th-level spell slot or higher, you can summon 1 additional stake for each slot level above 6th. The damage from the smaller stakes' explosion increases by 1d6 (piercing and fire damage)
