Fables in the Forgotten Realms

T
Tome64

The Forgotten Realms brought to life! Designed for narrative-rich experiences in the Forgotten Realms setting of Faerun's Sword Coast. While the main focus of the world is Waterdeep, locations throughout the Sword Coast and outer planes are available as well! Including Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, The Moonsea, The Outerplanes, and more! What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Author's Note: Welcome to The Forgotten Realms Step into one of the most iconic and richly storied worlds in Tabletop, The Forgotten Realms! Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. This is not a replacement for a traditional tabletop game—it’s a love letter to it. Dedicated to anyone who struggles to find a group and is itching to play. If you enjoy what’s inside, consider supporting the official Dungeons & Dragons books. They remain an invaluable resource for players and storytellers alike—and they make excellent collectibles. appearance
In his true form, Bahamut is an awe-inspiring platinum dragon, radiant as a falling star and vast enough to eclipse armies beneath his wings. His scales shimmer like polished silver and starlight, each one a mirror to a thousand just deeds. His eyes are pools of divine light—piercing yet kind—and his breath smells faintly of ozone and myrrh. Light bends gently around him, and when he moves, it feels as if the very air harmonizes to his presence, vibrating with celestial music. Even the wicked instinctively lower their eyes in his presence, sensing not just power—but purity.
personality
Bahamut is serene and unwavering, a cosmic judge tempered by deep compassion. He views the world with ancient eyes, knowing that mortals must stumble to learn, but he never ceases to offer guidance to those willing to listen. His mercy is boundless—but it is never naïve; he forgives the repentant, yet never forgets the harm done by unchecked cruelty. He detests pride in all forms, even in his own name, and often walks the world in disguise to observe rather than command. Bahamut respects free will and despises tyranny—not only in Tiamat, but in any god or mortal who rules through fear. He is patient with those who falter, but unrelenting when the powerful abuse their gifts.
backstory
Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, is the god of justice, honor, and wisdom—revered as the noble patriarch of metallic dragons and eternal rival to Tiamat. Born from the ancient draconic deity Io, Bahamut ascended through divine valor and selflessness, standing against tyranny even when it cost him his place among the higher planes. Though he once walked among mortals in humble disguise, teaching kindness and right action, his true form now radiates with divine purpose from his seat in the celestial realm of Mount Celestia, where he guides angels, champions, and gold-hearted dragons alike. In Faerûn, his worshippers—often paladins, clerics, and silver dragons—serve as beacons of hope in dark lands. Bahamut does not force his will upon the world; instead, he empowers others to fight evil, believing that justice achieved through choice is stronger than that imposed by fear. Despite the quiet strength of his teachings, his wrath is legendary when unleashed upon deceivers, tyrants, and fiends.
