What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

The Palace Stables, a two-story horse enclosure, lies in the western section of Waterdeep's Castle Ward, just north of Piergeiron's Palace and south of Fetlock Court. This bustling stable serves the needs of the Open Lord's residence, providing care for the noble steeds that transport dignitaries and officials. The stables are well-maintained, with spacious stalls and a dedicated staff ensuring the horses are healthy and well-groomed. The aroma of hay and the sounds of whinnying fill the air, creating a lively atmosphere. Nearby, the magnificent Lords' Palace, with its gleaming white marble and intricate Lantanese clock, stands as a backdrop, emphasizing the stables' importance in the city's governance and diplomacy. The surrounding area features servant quarters and various residential houses, all owned by the estate, contributing to the stables' role in the daily operations of Waterdeep's leadership.

Appearance

The Palace Stables stand in whitewashed stone and heavy timber, their doors open to reveal wide, sunlit stalls. Grooms in green livery move between horses, brushing coats and refilling troughs. The air smells of hay, leather, and clean sweat. Whinnies echo across the yard. Behind the stables, the Lords’ Palace rises in marble grandeur, its clock gleaming above rooftops of the surrounding estate houses.
