What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Directly north of the Piergeiron's Palace, the Guard Barracks stands as a stalwart protector of the realm's safety. Constructed from sturdy stone and adorned with the insignia of the City Watch, this building houses the elite guards tasked with safeguarding the palace and its dignitaries. Inside, the barracks are bustling with activity, featuring training areas, armories, and quarters for the guards. The air is filled with the sounds of clanging metal and the camaraderie of soldiers preparing for duty. A watchtower rises above, providing a vantage point over the surrounding streets, ensuring that any threat to the palace is swiftly dealt with. The barracks not only serve as a military outpost but also as a symbol of the city's commitment to security and order.

Appearance

Thick stone walls rise behind the Palace, etched with the gold-and-blue insignia of the City Watch. Soldiers in gleaming mail march through the sunlit yard, passing under arched gates and past racks of polished spears. A tall watchtower looms above, its narrow windows scanning the city with practiced vigilance. Courtyards echo with sparring steel and shouted orders, while uniformed figures file through torchlit halls below the barracks' fortified battlements.
