What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

A towering statue of a winged, hawk-headed being stands in Waterdeep, its wings tightly folded against its back, leaving its flight capability uncertain. The Walking Statue leans toward the northeast, missing its right foot and arm, remnants of its past as a rampaging figure. Its left arm extends northward, palm forward, as if to signal 'Stop.' This hollowed-out statue has been transformed into Sparaunt Tower, home to several wealthy tenants. The left hand reaches over a courtyard, where a tunnel carved through the arm serves as an entrance. Visitors can ring a bell in the courtyard, prompting a door guard to lower a rope ladder for tenants and expected guests, or a rope chair for those burdened with heavy items.

Appearance

The Sparaunt Tower leans over the street like a watchful guardian, its hawk-headed form frozen mid-command. One arm extends northward, palm raised in silent warning, while the other lies shattered at its side. Stone wings rest folded behind its back. Windows line its flanks, and a tunnel through the outstretched arm leads to a courtyard entrance where guests wait below a dangling rope ladder or chair, swaying in the wind.
