Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

Watchway Tower is a prominent torchtower located in Waterdeep's graveyard district, the City of the Dead. Standing four stories tall, it connects directly to the eastern Trollwall at its northeast corner, overlooking a sheer 30-meter drop to the countryside below. The tower features a debriefing room, a small armory, holding cells, and storage for evidence. Bedchambers and garderobes provide accommodations for the City Watch members who man the tower, vigilantly watching for signs of invasion from the edge of the Cliffwatch. Three beacon-fires are always kept on standby, ready to signal any threats to the city.

Appearance

A sturdy stone structure with three beacon-fires atop, overlooking the vast countryside. The walls are adorned with the insignia of the City Watch, and the air is filled with a sense of vigilance and duty.
