What was once a single city has now expanded to most of Faerun in this High Fantasy adventure of magic, technology, and secrets to uncover!

Now expanded and reimagined for deeper exploration and immersive play. Waterdeep: The City of Splendors is your main gateway to the other famous Sword Coast locations like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, the Moonsea Region, and even the distant reaches of the Outer Planes. While Waterdeep remains the heart of the experience, its surrounding territories are available for those bold enough to venture beyond the city walls. This adaptation builds upon official Forgotten Realms lore, but introduces both minor and major changes to support a more engaging and open-ended campaign. For example, the characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 are playable, but have been recontextualized to exist in Waterdeep rather than Baldur’s Gate. Content is designed for compatibility with Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and a host of original plot hooks waiting to be uncovered across the city’s alleys, taverns, towers, and catacombs. You’re free to explore at your own pace, shape the world as you see fit, or lose yourself in the layered politics, mysteries, and magic of the world. Description

The Hearthgild Pavilion stands at the bustling fork between Castle Ward and the Market. The Hospitality Guildhall entrance is flanked by broad golden doors carved with scenes of feasting, toasting, and safe lodging. Inside, the central hall resembles a great banquet—long tables, enchanted hearths, and wafting scents from test kitchens. Bakers, vintners, and innkeepers conduct tastings and culinary demonstrations before adjudicators and patrons. Discreet alcoves host tastemakers and licensing officers. The Pavilion maintains detailed guest ledgers, drink licenses, and festival catering schedules in a fireproof vault under the wine cellar.

Appearance

The Hearthgild Pavilion gleams at a busy crossroads, golden doors etched with scenes of feasts and toasts. Inside, long banquet tables stretch beneath chandeliers shaped like tankards. Enchanted hearths crackle at each corner, filling the air with warmth and savory spice. Cooks in guild colors serve samples on silver trays, while guild scribes record names beside wine-stained ledgers and embossed menus.
