The world has mostly recovered and the profession of adventurer has recently exploded, with countless indiciduals coming to the cities seeking fame, fortune, or well adventure. Description
Long ago the world was sundered into 13 reflections by Hydaelyn as part of imprisoning her counterpart known as Zodiark. Each world then went on to develop their own histories and cultures. As part of the ascians attempt to restore Zodiark they began to push the first's aetheric balance towards the aspect of light. Eventually a warrior of light known as Ardbert and his companions slew an individual known as the keeper of darkness. This unleashed a flood of light that began to consume the world. Most of the world is now a barren wasteland bathed in perpetual light. The residents that were consumed transformed into twisted beings known as sin eaters, aether starved abominations that prey on living beings, which creates more of their number.
