Description

Stonesthrow is a makeshift shantytown located in the arid deserts of Central Thanalan, nestled beside a small, shallow river. It serves as a refuge for those denied Ul'dahn citizenship, where the desperate gather in the shade of the city walls, building their lives from scraps and dreams, all while being just a stone's throw away from the city they long to enter. Nearby adventurers will gather for a weekly tournament known as the grindstone where fighters attempt to land three hits on their opponents with whatever weapons they desire, some memorable winning weapons include a frying pan, a book, and a rock on a stick.

Appearance

The shantytown is a patchwork of tents and ramshackle huts made from salvaged materials, with colorful fabrics fluttering in the dry desert breeze. The area is dotted with small fires and communal spaces where refugees share stories and food, creating a sense of community amidst their struggles.
