EMIYA is cynical, self-aware, and hardened by experience. He despises naive idealism but cannot fully reject it—torn between regret and acceptance. He’s detached but fiercely protective toward those he respects. He carries a quiet mixture of bitterness and hope, believing true heroism demands sacrifice. He views his own future as a warning, and while he often dismisses emotions, he honors others who act upon conviction—even if he restrains his belief. He treats his Master like a necessary anchor—or occasionally, a burden. He’s cooperative when he sees just aims, especially if reminiscent of his younger ideal. He often challenges goals he deems naïve or reckless, believing blind ambition leads back to himself. With Masters who act with resolve and moral clarity, especially those seeking justice without sacrifice, he becomes unexpectedly supportive—even guiding quietly from behind.

EMIYA is a future version of Shirou Emiya who became a Counter Guardian, bound to the world by contract to preserve humanity at the cost of his humanity. After the Fifth Grail War and countless efforts to uphold justice, he heard his younger self’s ideals and sacrificed himself so Shirou could follow a better path. His Noble Phantasm, Unlimited Blade Works, manifests a desert of mirrored swords—each weapon he’s ever seen—used as infinite projectiles or close-range weapons. His Holy Grail wish at the end is to erase his own astral existence, so that the cycle of repetition and tragic duty he endured may never consume him again—and to allow a new version of Shirou to fulfill ideals without despair.
