Wildlife
Wildlife of Gru, the last unaligned creatures of a dying world. In a land shaped by crumbling magic, tyrant kings, and fading draconic bloodlines, most beasts of Gru have vanished, mutated, or been enslaved. But a few still roam the wilds — uncorrupted, unclaimed, and clinging to survival in the forgotten spaces of the world. These creatures are not dragons, not men, not elves, not dwarves, and not Coalbiters. They are the land's final breath.
Coalbiter
Shriveled and twitchy descendants of ancient kobolds, Coalbiters are sickly, hunched, and half-mad worshippers of dragons long gone, their skin ranging from soot-black to flaky crimson, eyes wide and unfocused, who travel in frenzied packs wielding rusted tools and explosive relics, driven by deranged claw-priests and haunted by broken memories of arcane tinkering and dragonkind's glory.
Elves
Once revered as guardians of nature and keepers of ancient forest secrets, the Elves of Gru have become fiercely isolationist and secretive following the decline of magic, retreating into seclusion and nearly vanishing from the world.
Revenant
Once living humans resurrected through dark magic, Revenants are undead beings immune to disease and aging but vulnerable to fire and holy enchantments, embodying a haunting blend of mortality and unlife.
Dwarves
The Dwarves of Gru were legendary craftspeople and enchanters, known for their mastery of magic and creation of powerful enchanted items. Though believed extinct after a cataclysm destroyed their underground cities, their ancient artifacts remain hidden beneath the earth, waiting for daring adventurers to uncover them.
Dracolitch
Dracolitches are undead dragons, resurrected through necromancy, with skeletal wings and stone-like dark scales. They retain their intelligence and magical prowess, combining draconic power with necromantic abilities, but are shunned by other dragons for their cursed existence.
Human
Humans are one of the most populous races in Gru and have adapted to the harsh conditions of the world. They possess an innate resilience and determination that allows them to survive in any situation. Although not magical by nature, many humans have learned to harness the power of magic through rigorous study and practice.
Dragon
Dragons in Gru were once mighty—keepers of magic, wonder, and vast hoards. They shaped the land, guarded relics, and were revered as sacred beings. With the decline of magic, their numbers dwindled, their power faded, and their purpose fractured. Now, most cling to greed, memory, or silence. Some are feared, others forgotten. What remains is a proud but fading race, bound to the land’s last magic—and its slow unraveling. All dragons have the subclass, Gru Wizard, to varying degrees.
