A dilapidated motel on the outskirts of Fraser-Whatcom District, frequented by drug users seeking shelter and a place to indulge in their vices. The building is rundown, with peeling paint, broken windows, and flickering neon signs.
The Scriptorium Annex (ATO Shrine)
The Scriptorium Annex (ATO Shrine) Public Lens: A dusty old wing of the Sehome Law Library, preserved for its “historic academic significance.” Most students avoid it because it’s cold, full of old books, and smells like myrrh and printer ink. Initiate Lens: The Scriptorium is a divine record hall. Its halls remember every myth ever edited, suppressed, or told in secret. Alumni use it to “rewrite threads,” subtly nudging fate with quills soaked in ink made from river Lethe water and oil pressed from olives grown in Hades. Security guards don’t patrol past the archive door. They say the lights flicker, and one janitor claims he cleaned blood off a scroll that wasn’t there the next morning. How it’s used by the Awakened: ATO members come here in secret to research true origins, and to file revisions to accepted divine histories. Some ATO members work here, disguised as grad students. A few professors know too much.
The Trimmed Silence
A looping cul-de-sac median turned community greenway, lined with hedges sculpted into wolves, angels, serpents, and a single upside-down rosebush. The air smells faintly of lavender and copper, and at dusk the statues twitch slightly while faint classical music with ancient Greek lyrics can be heard.
The Uncatalogued Section
This section is a repository for records that arrived through unusual means, almost as if the music itself chose the store. It's a place for the truly adventurous, where conventional organization is abandoned in favor of a more intuitive, perhaps even mystical, approach to discovery. Expect the unexpected, and be prepared to 'feel' your way through the collection.
The Underground Coffeehouse
A cozy, dimly lit venue beneath the VU (Viking Union), known for live music, open mic nights, and late-night poetry sessions. The wooden stage bears a mysterious stain that resists all attempts to clean it.
The Veil's Rest
A seemingly rundown scotch bar in Columbia district, frequented by elderly patrons unaware of its true nature. To those who have seen beyond the veil, it is a gathering place for ghosts who have not yet passed on to the afterlife.
The Water Tower
A tall, fenced-off water tower that is climbable. From the top, one can see fraternity row and the Sehome city district of Bellingham clearly.
The Wave
A popular surf and turf restaurant with open seating overlooking Bellingham Bay, known for some of the best food in the city, located in the Fairhaven district.
The Yellow House That Forgets You
A buttercup yellow one-story house where the same person answers the door regardless of time or visitor, offering lemonade before instantly forgetting them. Visitors leave with memory gaps, from minor details to entire identities lost. Used by Watchers for gentle memory wipes, considered a humane edit station by ATO.
Town and Country Gas Station
A bustling gas station serving travelers and locals, located next to a McDonald's and across from a Motel Six in the Columbia District of Bellingham, WA. It features multiple fuel pumps, a convenience store with snacks and travel essentials, and a small parking area.
