On Aircraft
With the arrival of the BETA on Earth and the eventual obsolescence of traditional aircraft, with the appearance of the @BETA - Laser Class and the introduction of @Tactical Surface Fighter (TSF)s, aircraft have a reduced presence within the setting. Military jet fighter craft technological developments presumably continued on track with known history up to Cold War era, but with the advent of TSFs and their effective replacement within warfare doctrines, many of these new bipedal mechs were subsequently given the names of otherwise commonly recognizable military jet fighters.
This isn't to say that all aircraft have ceased to exist, as many of Humanity's warfare doctrines revolve around carpet bombing or cruise missile strikes from bombers for large scale area saturation strikes to thin BETA herd numbers. This is only viable when there is no laser-class presence of BETA on the battlefield however, as otherwise the craft would be shot down before reaching the target areas.
Rotorwing aircraft, or helicopters are still highly used in support of infantry and mechanized defenses, thanks to their low altitude operation and even further ability towards NOE flight.
Both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters are used for transport and in the case of logistics aircraft, some can even transport up to two TSFs in special-made containers resting along the top of the wings and fuselage of the plane itself.
