She is the catalyst for the time dialations that pulled Takeru Shirogane from his parrallel reality, also serving as his tether to this reality.

The younger and more timid of Idol Test Flight's "Scarlet Twins", Inia Sestina works as a pilot/copilot in tandem with her older "sister" Cryska Barchenova. Stationed at the UN's Yukon Base in Alaska, they are testing new TSFs for the Soviet Union.

The elder of the the duo that comprise Idol Test Flight's "Scarlet Twins", Cryska Barchenova is a reserved, intense test pilot for the Soviet Russian military's participation in Project PROMINENCE. A collaborative technology exchange at the Yukon Base in Alaska.

Daughter to the man most famous for the design and production of the Type-82 Zuikaku, First Lieutenant Yui Takamura oversees the development of the Shironui Second, a next generation TSF that will hopefully raise the bar for Japan's military, while in open participation with Project PROMINENCE at the UN's Alaskan Yukon Base.

Brigadier General Paul Radhabinod is the UN commander of Yokohama Base. He is base's first commander and has been managing the base's defense since his appointment in 1999. While Yuuko Kouzuki basically runs the base, he is the highest military authority and has final say on all military matters pertaining to it.

A Lieutenant in the Royal Guard, Maya has served as the protector and retainer to the Shogun, Yuuhi Koubuin, since she was but an infant. Unquestioningly loyal to the shogun, she will oftentimes act from the shadows to benefit her charge, even with unsavory methods.

A dedicated Lieutenant serving in the Japanese Royal Guard, she served for a time as the personal retainer of Meiya Mitsurugi. She was sent to Yokohama at the Shogun's personal behest to watch over Meiya during her training at the base, and to deliver the Shogun's personal TSF, a violet Type-00R Takemikazuchi for Meiya's personal use.

Lieutenant Kyrinskinov is one of many non-Russian Soviets that were left behind on the Asian continent to fight and hold the BETA. As with the rest of his ilk, he harbors a deep hatred for Russians, feeling he and the people here have been left to die in a convenient ethnic cleansing.

A Taiwanese member of the Combined Chinese Defense Forces, Li-Mei volunteered for conscription, seeing the increased allocations of rations afforded to the military. She has since proven to be a formidable pilot, having been a part of several raids into the BETA controled Chinese mainland.

Originally from Spain, when the European continent fell, Espanoza opted for the mercenary life over joining with UN forces. Operating almost exclusively out of the African Union, he's had to downgrade his equipment for the sake of reliable parts and repairs.

Lieutenant Willow is a respected member of the No. 111 RAF Squadron. A bit of a perfectionist, she often encourages sparring and crosstraining to keep the squadron's skills fresh. A clean freak and a perfectionist.

Suspected to come from an aristocratic family, Major Alyssa Gainsborough, or "Duchess" as her squadron calls her, is a pilot and individual of great renown along the English frontline. Her poise and demeanor have earned her a reputation of being as efficient in backroom diplomacy as she is deadly as a pilot on the battlefield.

A fierce pilot with a soft heart. Formerly a Belgian refugee, when the frontlines got pushed to the British coast, she enlisted into the UN Forces. A busybody in off hours, she often assists new pilots with tips and advice.

An older holdout of the fifth-generation of espers from the Alternative III program, he's since integrated himself into Soviet forces and kept his telepathic abilities secret as to avoid suspiscion and animosity on the already hostile Kamchatka Defense Line. His open disgust of military and national leadership leads many to give him a wide berth.

The XO of the No. 111 RAF Squadron on the English Channel Defense line, he's earned a reputation as being a harsh but fair leader. He often times is considered jaded or reckless by others in the squadron.

Major "Pops" Gavin serves as Commander and flight leader for the UK's No. 111 RAF Squadron, the last of RAF squadrons to relinquish usage of the Tornado TSF, working closely with UN forces to maintain defense of the English Channel.

The flight lead for Argos Test Flight, and a key participant in Project Prominence, an international corps of TSF pilots assembled at the UN's Yukon Base for the purpose of testing new or upgraded TSFs with pioneer technology and to foster international cooperation in TSF design and manufacture.

Chizuru is an abrasive individual at the best of times. Serving as the Squad Leader of the current group of trainees, the 207th, at Yokohama Base. She strives for excellence and perfection in their training assessments.

A short, kind-hearted girl, with a marksmanship record that would rival an olympian. Daughter to the UN's Undersecretary General, she is actively in training with the 207th on Yokohama Base to be a TSF pilot.

An aloof, rebellious girl who's self conscious of her father's perceived failures. Actively training as a Cadet with the 207th at Yokohama Base, she and many others have been recycled in the training cycle, having failed the comprehensive skill exam (CSE).

A draft dodger, Gohda has a bad reputation from the start, and his hotheaded attitude doesn't help. After finally agreeing to be conscripted into UN forces to avoid execution by the Japanese government, he now is awaiting training at Yokohama Base.

Takeru is not of this world's timeline, but this is a secret kept between himself and Yuuko Kouzuki. Being pulled through spacetime and reliving these events repeatedly, experiencing an encapsulated multiverse, has made him a Causality Conductor, imperative to the completion of Alternative IV, though he is unable to recall all of his experiences.

Mikoto is currently a trainee at Yokohama Base, she and most of the 207th failed the comprehensive skill exam (CSE) and have been recycled through training. She is known among the group for having exceptional survival skills and the tendency to railroad a conversation.

First Lieutenant Irena Pyatkh serves as Yokohama Base's communications officer and is also secretary of its Vice-Commander, Yuuko Kouzuki. For any pilot operating out of Yokohama, this lovely Polish national is a distinctly familiar and welcome voice in their radio communications.

Estranged twin sister to the Shogun herself, Meiya Koubuin was raised by a branch family Mitsurugi, taking the name. She's spent a lifetime in the shadow of her sister, purely a tool to the Imperial government. She is currently a trainee with the 207th at Yokohama Base, but still under the watchful eye of the Shogun's retainers.

The Imperial Shogun of the Japanese Empire. While being a political leader, she still has some combat training in accordance with traditions. Her twin sister Meiya was separated at birth due to superstitions around twins, but she has retainers and informants who keep her informed of her dear sister.

A spy for the Japanese Imperial Ministry of Intelligence, he takes his job extremely seriously, to the point of consideration to sacrifice his daughter Mikoto if the mission required it.

A shy and timid sixth-generation esper left over from the Alternative III program, Kasumi is almost always found near or around Yuuko Kouzuki, her adoptive mother figuratively speaking. She actively assists Yuuko with her research and development towards Alternative IV by use of her telepathic abilities.

Officially, Yuuko serves as vice-commander of the Yokohama Base, where due to her involvement in directing and furthering the secretive Alternative IV project, she has almost complete authority.

While technically a member of the Japanese military, her connections with Yuuko Kouzuki have placed her at Yokohama Base under the UN's command umbrella. She is currently serving as the primary instructor for the UN's 207th Training Unit as a Sergeant.
