Description
You channel a torrent of shadowy energy to rip the life force from a creature’s soul, fueling your own power. Choose one creature within range. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 12d8 necrotic damage and be paralyzed until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and is not paralyzed. If a creature is killed by this spell, its soul is bound to you for the duration. While bound, you gain temporary hit points equal to the creature’s maximum hit points, and you can use a bonus action to command its shadowy husk to make a single melee attack. When the spell ends, the soul is released, and the husk vanishes.
