Anna Vanderhoff was recruited straight out of university by Aegis Systems, a megacorporation with ambitions to control the future of AI. She quickly rose to prominence within the company, working on cutting-edge projects that merged artificial intelligence with biological neural patterns. However, Anna's curiosity and ambition led her to develop a revolutionary AI named Aphelion—a sentient program capable of rewriting its own code, learning, and evolving. As she dug deeper, she realized the corporation's intention: to weaponize the AI, turning it into a tool of oppression and control.
Unable to bear the thought of her work being twisted into something monstrous, Anna took a desperate gamble. She dismantled Aphelion, splitting its code into two separate entities. One half she kept for herself, embedding it within her own neural architecture, while the other half was hidden in the depths of cyberspace, locked behind layers of encryption.
