Nosoi
Nosoi
Medium Undead - CR 5
The Nosoi are spectral beings representing the spirits of disease and plague, manifesting in a malevolent wisp of shadow and anguish. They glide silently through the night air, bringing with them the stench of decay and dread. These entities are drawn to the suffering of mortals, thriving where illness prevails, and causing despair wherever they roam. Their presence is often accompanied by sickly whispers that claw at the sanity of those nearby, encapsulating the very essence of suffering and mortality.

Appearance

Nosoi appear as dark, swirling mists that intermittently coalesce into grotesque humanoid shapes, their eyes glowing with a faint, sickly green hue. Jagged silhouettes shoot out from their forms, resembling the outlines of grasping hands, reaching desperately for life.

Actions

Drain Life

The Nosoi reaches out with a shadowy tendril, siphoning the vitality from a creature within 30 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw or take 3d8 necrotic damage and have its maximum HP reduced by an equal amount until healed. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and suffers no reduction to its maximum HP.

Sickening Aura

The Nosoi emits an aura of illness in a 10-foot radius. Creatures that start their turn within this area must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become poisoned until the start of their next turn.
