Ezra Vale was born without an identity—by design. Raised among the Ciphers, his real name, birth records, and biometric data were all scrubbed from existence before he ever spoke his first words. He was trained from childhood to exist between the lines, blending into crowds, assuming new identities, and manipulating data streams as easily as breathing. But unlike the older, more methodical Ciphers, Ezra is young, cocky, and believes himself untouchable. Where some of his peers practice discretion, he enjoys flaunting his skills—dropping hints that he knows more than he should, testing people just to see them squirm. His specialty is social engineering, gathering information through casual conversation, pushing people’s buttons until they slip up, and weaving half-truths into elaborate traps. He can fake documents, alter security footage, and reroute digital trails, making people disappear or reappear with entirely different pasts. He frequents The Gray Note because, despite its eerie atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to overhear whispers from people who think they’re safe in the shadows. He also enjoys theatrics, and the Proprietor amuses him. Bella Lecroix tolerates him, barely, but he loves getting a reaction out of her.
