Darius Vex grew up in the neon-drenched ruins of New Times Square, a street rat surviving through theft, deception, and instinct. Unbeknownst to him, his latent psionic abilities made him faster, sharper, always one step ahead—until he tried to pickpocket an Ordo Mentis Chapter Master and was caught mid-motion, his own mind turned against him. Given a choice between punishment or training, he chose the burden of discipline. The transition was brutal; he had to unlearn survivalist cunning and replace it with the strict code of the Order. His psionics, once used for petty crime, became weapons of precision. A failed mission cost him an arm and an eye, but his new cybernetics only made him stronger. Now, newly knighted, Darius is torn between his past and his duty, struggling to uphold the Order’s ideals while knowing that in Crossroads, survival means knowing when to fight dirty.
