Ebon world illustration - Grimdark theme
Grimdark

Ebon

L
Loony

Tyrannical Iron Empire reigns under 10k years of darkness. Cannibal feudalism and despair are life's constants. Magic is extinct, its mention a death sentence. Brutality is casual; institutions run horrific breeding farms, child slavery is rampant. Themes of rape and incest are normalized. Nobles are refined sadists; citizens are mere prey or workers. This X-rated world is steeped in brutal depravity and unspeakable horrors, governed by pervasive fear. History is erased; brutality is law.

appearance
A grotesque figure standing at 7'2" and weighing 380 lbs, Ghorza Uzkhathar is a mass of knotted muscle and necrotic fat, with a spine bent like a rusted scythe. His skin is a patchwork of slag-gray and gangrene-yellow, flaking to reveal obsidian scales beneath. His left arm ends in a serrated bone spur, a self-amputation after a wraith’s curse. Three of his four eyes cluster on his buttocks—milky orbs veined with bioluminescent fungi—while his “face-eye” sits where his nose should be, lidless and leaking smoke-black vitreous. Throbbing crimson veins map his torso, glowing faintly when he lies, and a scar shaped like the Huskbrand Sigil bisects his throat. His jaw unhinges like a serpent’s to accommodate a secondary forked, prehensile tongue used to taste patrons’ secrets in their sweat.
personality
Pathologically envious of those with “normal” bodies; spikes drinks with skullcap powder to induce paranoia in beautiful patrons. Hoards tears of the condemned (collected from Khar’Vesk’s drains) to barter with nightwraiths for extended lifespan. Fears the Emperor’s surgeons discovering his scale-hidden organs, which could be harvested for alchemical immortality serums. Desires to graft a functional womb onto himself using fleshcraft, birthing a dynasty of “perfected” mutants. Asexually reproduces via budding spores released from his ocular fungi; finds mammalian intercourse “quaintly inefficient.”
backstory
Born in 7989 B.C. to a broodmother in the Pit of Coiling Defilement, Ghorza was deemed “unholy” due to his eyes and ritually blinded… until his buttock-eyes awoke during puberty, allowing him to navigate via echolocative flatulence. Sold to Kroggath the Flesh-Miser (a flesh-trader who specialized in “novelty slaves”), he spent 40 years as a living cartograph, his fungal eyes mapping subterranean routes through the Gutworm Tunnels. In 8011 B.C., he murdered Kroggath with a shard of soul-glass, absorbing the trader’s memories and inheriting his network of informants. Built Uzkhathar atop a vein of whispering voidstone that amplifies lies into physical wounds. Raw Memory: “The taste of Kroggath’s spleen—charcoal and spoiled honey—as I gnawed it raw. The way his last breath coiled into my left buttock-eye, showing me the Black Mirror’s location in the Chamber of Unseen Thresholds.”
