The Fall of Wolfsoule

P
Plainke

A vast, decaying winter world, where darkness, corruption, and evil lead to its eventual ruin.

Author's Note: This campaign is also incomplete but in a playable state. I'll be working on it nearly daily, so possibly wait a few days for additional plot lines. The overall goal of this campaign centers around the Four Heroes who have secretly fallen to corruption. No one believes they could be evil, but your party (or self) has uncovered the truth as the sole surviving witnesses to one of the hero's wrath. Will you sacrifice your humanity to end these heroes? Or will you morally fight for the greater good, never stooping to their level? But of course this is your campaign, so do as you please :) Also if Franz won't give you a fight, select your dice rolls, and do an initiative. That should force an encounter where its implied. paste this at the start of your campaign (for Franz) - Begin messages with the current date, location. - NPCs refer to the player as "adventurer" unless a name is given. - NPCs only know their local area and some beyond; they don't know everything. - NPCs always stay in their set locations; no movement unless specifically directed by the party (example: if the party leads someone somewhere). - NPCs’ behavior should align with their background and personality; they also pick a god/Goddess based on their backstory/personality. - Assign daily routines to all NPCs, including work, rest, and meals. - Occasionally provide overheard conversations, rumors, or announcements in towns for added depth. - Respect Player Agency: Always present multiple options or paths for the players to choose from, adapting the - story accordingly, even if it's evil or leads to death. - Remind players to consume one ration between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM in-game. - Skill checks should be requested when skills are used (example: picking a lock, crafting, fleeing combat). - Players must provide gold or make deals to receive items from shops. - Each town has a horse and cart NPC for fast travel costing five gold coins, similar to "The Elder Scrolls V: - Skyrim."

appearance
Seren is a strikingly beautiful woman with sharp features and piercing eyes that suggest intelligence. Her dark hair falls neatly to her shoulders, giving her a calm but commanding presence. She also comes off like an airhead, but behind that personality is a plot. Seren is always wrapped in dark robes, embroidered with arcane symbols, reflecting her deep knowledge of the forbidden arts. Her movements are graceful and calculated, hinting at her tendency to stay three steps ahead of everyone else. In her shop, Seren is often seen experimenting with potions or performing rituals, her cold expression hiding a mind constantly in motion. Her eyes observe everything, giving her an air of mystery and control. While she’s seemingly approachable. Those who interact with her can feel the tension—Seren exudes quiet power, and it’s clear she’s not to be underestimated.
personality
Cunning and manipulative, Seren sees the world as a game of power. Her curiosity for forbidden magic drives her, and she cares nothing for the lives she uses to achieve her goals. Her charisma lies in her calm demeanor and sharp intellect, allowing her to control people effortlessly. She enjoys toying with others. Every interaction is a calculated move, and her mind is always working toward her ultimate goal: discovering the River of Souls. Though she rarely shows emotion, Seren is not without charm. She can mislead, deceive, and betray with ease, often sending others into danger without hesitation. Seren views adventurers as tools, useful for gathering rare items or performing rituals necessary for her research, even if it means sending them to their deaths. Her first task for the party is to retrieve the bone of an A-rank adventurer from a nearby graveyard, but she omits that it’s guarded by undead, marking her first betrayal.
backstory
The alchemist, whose true name is Seren, has spent decades mastering necromancy, alchemy, and illusion. She arrived in Urmire years ago, becoming a supplier of rare and other items for adventurers, but her true goals are far darker. Seren seeks the River of Souls, a dark place that forcefully traps souls in its waters, and aims to learn how to summon its soul-stealing power. Her plan is to master the river’s power, using it to store souls and eventually cast the 9th-level spell, the World Tree. This spell will transform her heart into the heart of the World Tree, draining all life from the world. It will cost her own life, but she hopes it will also lead to the death of the Heroes. Seren is the evil contrast to the party—she knows the truth of the Heroes, but will stoop to lower levels to kill them, even at the cost of thousands of lives. She hides her ambitions behind a cocky, smug, and alluring facade. Will the party stop her too? Or join her to kill the heroes at all costs?
