House Miyakoshi — The Forgemasters of the Crown

House Miyakoshi — The Forgemasters of the Crown

“We build what others dream, and we dream of nothing but steel.”
Filed under: Aegis Department of Political Intelligence — Class Ω-Restricted

I. Overview

House Miyakoshi is the sole noble lineage recognized by the Iron Crown, serving as hereditary masters of Xratinia’s mines, forges, and treasury.
If the royal family embodies the nation’s soul, Miyakoshi is its heartbeat — keeping the furnaces lit, the soldiers armed, and the economy breathing.

They are not aristocrats in luxury; they are industrial priests.
Every generation is raised to see the forge as both church and weapon.
Their motto is engraved above every mine entrance:

“The flame feeds all.”

II. Origin

Founded nearly a millennium ago by Daigo Miyakoshi, a foreign engineer from early Haven Reach who defected to serve the First King Aldros.
He designed the first Ore Mountains rail-refining system, enabling Xratinia to mass-produce alloyed armor faster than any neighbor.
For his service, Aldros granted him noble status and the eternal stewardship of the mines.

Their bloodline has since been considered “Tempered Noble,” not by divinity, but by contribution — each Miyakoshi must create something worthy of the Crown before they may inherit title.

III. The Family Today

Lord Kenzai Miyakoshi “The Steel Hand”

Age: 61 | Position:** Head of House & Minister of Industry**

  • Physically powerful, one arm replaced with a platinum-titanium prosthetic forged in the Iron Crown Keep.

  • Calm, brutal efficiency; speaks rarely, acts decisively.

  • Oversees every mine, forge, and foundry in Xratinia.

  • Personally signs every weapon manifest before shipment to the Legions.

Philosophy:

“If it breaks, it was never worthy of our flame.”

Lady Naomi Miyakoshi “The Ledger of Ash”

Age: 57 | Position:** Royal Treasurer and Keeper of Alloy Reserves**

  • Oversees national resource allocation.

  • Known for her near-perfect memory — can recall the weight of every ingot moved in a decade.

  • Manages both public economy and secret treasury reserves for wartime.

  • Respected by the Queen; together they maintain the kingdom’s equilibrium between blade and bread.

Captain Ren Miyakoshi “The Breaker of Lines”

Age: 35 | Position:** Commander of the Hammerborn Division**

  • Oversees the heavy frontline troops — the shock-maul wielders.

  • Known for breaking a Haven Reach siege line alone with his unit.

  • Beloved by soldiers for treating enlisted men as equals.

Reputation:
“The king’s sword strikes once; Ren’s hammer never stops.”

Lady Sora Miyakoshi “The Iron Voice”

Age: 32 | Position:** Chief Engineer of Forgehold**

  • Leads development of plasma weapon improvements.

  • Refuses titles; works beside common engineers.

  • Famous for a saying printed on every machine she signs:

    “No crown above the craft.”

Acolyte Kenji Miyakoshi “The Quiet Spark”

Age: 19 | Position:** Apprentice at the Scholar’s Spine**

  • Youngest of the main line.

  • Studies metallurgy and energy conduction.

  • Considered a prodigy; rumored to have invented a non-reactive alloy nicknamed “Living Steel.”

  • The King himself monitors his progress.

V. Cultural Traits of the House

  • Speech: Precise and low; pauses are considered punctuation of thought, not hesitation.

  • Dress: Blackened steel-weave coats, red-lined collars; family crest (a hammer wrapped in flame) always visible.

  • Custom: Every Miyakoshi must forge a personal tool before adulthood — weapon or instrument — to symbolize mastery of craft.

  • Belief: Innovation without discipline is treason.

VI. The House Creed

Recited at every gathering before the central forge:

“We are the heat that bends the crown,
The smoke that feeds the sky.
We build, we burn, we bind —
So the flame may never die.”

VII. The Crest & Symbolism

Banner Colors: Black and Red with Platinum Trim — representing labor, sacrifice, and purity of result.

VIII. Relationship with the Royal Family

  • Bond: Symbiotic — the Crown commands, Miyakoshi builds.

  • Ritual: Once per year, the King and Lord Miyakoshi meet privately in the Hall of Cinders to renew the pact by tempering a single steel bar together.
The finished bar is split in two — half remains in the Palace, half in Forgehold.

  • Political Role: Miyakoshi representatives occupy three of ten Iron Council seats, giving them veto over industrial and technological policy.

  • Military Ties: The Steel Legion answers jointly to the Crown and the House during wartime.

IX. Public Perception

Among citizens, House Miyakoshi is respected even more than loved.
Workers see them as “noble smiths,” not bureaucrats.
Their names are spoken in factories like prayers before risky work.

Common saying among miners:

“The King gives orders.
Miyakoshi gives purpose.”

X. Aegis Intelligence Summary (Field Report #47-C, Haven Reach)

“House Miyakoshi is what happens when an entire bloodline becomes a factory.
They don’t sleep — they calibrate.
They don’t eat — they refuel.
If Xratinia ever falls, it won’t be through battle.
It’ll be because the Miyakoshi stopped building.”
