THE FROSTLIGHT HEIST
THE FROSTLIGHT HEIST
“The night the light was stolen.”

I. The Setting — Silas’s Birthday Party
Silas Vanderholt, unaware of the storm gathering around his family, is taken out of Diamond City for his lavish 18th birthday celebration — an event funded by his father before the coup that ousted him.
The party takes place at:
The Sapphire Rail
A luxury, sky-train hotel that circles HavenReach’s skyline.
Silas is out of the estate for exactly three hours.
And Viktor Riddle knows it.
II. The Rumor That Reached the Wrong Ears
A low-level Vanderholt board member slips a secret to the wrong person in a drunken rant:
“The old man was hiding something in the basement.
Something bright. Something cold.”
The rumor travels like wildfire:
Board → Daemos informant → Orion spy → Viktor Riddle.
Viktor recognizes the value instantly.
A coin-sized energy source that powers a city?
A device that could cripple Daemos, Aegis, and Haven Reach at once?
This is not just leverage.
It’s ascension.
Viktor moves within the hour.
III. The Team Sent to Retrieve It
Viktor does not come alone.
He brings four Pigeon Carp Copies — illegal clones produced in a Daemos black-lab years ago, each one a degraded but deadly version of the original.
The Pigeon Carp Copies (Designated: PCC-1 through PCC-4)
semi-unstable cloned neural matrices
triple-jointed limbs
titanium exoskeleton grafts
serrated internal forearm blades
cannot feel pain
feral loyalty
each one strong enough to dismantle a light tank
They are the perfect combination of surgical precision and overwhelming brutality.
IV. Viktor’s Objective
He is not attacking the house for money.
He is not attacking for revenge.
He is attacking for the Frostlight Core.
And he wants it before Victor Daemos even learns it exists.
His orders to the PCC units:
“Retrieve the coin.
Kill no one unless necessary.
If you see Graham — break him.”
V. The Infiltration — “Silent Over the Iron Gates”
Silas’s mansion lies on the foggy outskirts of Diamond City, surrounded by:
12ft wrought-iron fences
pressure plates
retinal scanners
two private guards (who are secretly FID contractors)
At 19:04, when Silas’s sky-train departs:
⚫ 19:06 — Cameras glitch
A pure black square replaces every outdoor camera feed.
No alarms trigger.
⚫ 19:08 — The smell of ozone
PCC-2 punches a hole through the gate using a compressed-plasma knuckle burst.
The metal melts without a sound.
⚫ 19:10 — Entry achieved
Viktor himself steps through the fog, hands in pockets, expression neutral.
The mansion doesn’t know it yet...
But a new ghost has entered its halls.
VI. The Search — The Frozen Light
Viktor knows exactly what he’s looking for:
The Copper-Wing Observatory
Hidden beneath the mansion garden.
A cryo-vault.
Voiceprint locked.
Pulse-sealed.
The PCCs tear apart the house with silent precision:
PCC-1 checks the upper floors
PCC-3 crawls through the ventilation ducts
PCC-2 scans for heat signatures
PCC-4 begins slicing through floorboards like paper
Meanwhile, Viktor walks calmly through Silas’s childhood rooms, reading photo frames, studying trophies, mapping the mind of the boy who might one day become his enemy.
He murmurs only once:
“A world built on light…
and you’re too naive to see how dark it truly is.”
Finally, PCC-4 discovers the trap door.
Underneath?
A steel spiral staircase descending into frost.
VII. The Heist
The cryo-vault opens only with Graham’s biometric pulse.
But Viktor already accounted for that.
He places his hand on the scanner.
His pulse stabilizer clicks.
Graham’s biometric pattern plays back perfectly.
The vault opens.
Inside:
A single Frostlight Core rests in a cradle of sub-zero vapor.
It looks like a silver coin holding a tiny frozen aurora.
Viktor does not hesitate.
He picks it up barehanded.
Frost crawls instantly up his palm.
He winces once — only once.
Then:
“Beautiful.”
He pockets the Core.
VIII. The Complication — Pigeon Carp Arrives
The real Pigeon Carp.
He wasn’t supposed to be here.
He wasn’t supposed to leave Viktor’s side.
But he tracked the clones via resonance signature.
He drops into the observatory like a human missile, smashing through reinforced glass and landing between Viktor and his exit route.
His crimson lenses lock onto Viktor.
“What are you stealing.”
Not a question.
A judgment.
For the first time, Viktor sees doubt — slight, but present — flicker in Pigeon’s eyes.
The PCC clones screech in unison.
Their blades emerge.
Tension crackles.
The world holds its breath.
IX. The Line That Breaks the World
Viktor steps forward, frost still smoking from his palm.
His voice is soft:
“I’m stealing freedom.”
Pigeon Carp hesitates.
A single second.
Long enough.
PCC-1 slams into Pigeon from behind.
The observatory shakes.
Dust rains from the ceiling.
Pigeon engages the clones in a shockwave of metal and fury.
Viktor does not stay to watch.
He leaves.
X. The Aftermath — The Core Is Gone
Silas returns home at midnight.
The mansion is destroyed.
Guards unconscious.
The observatory shattered.
His father’s research is missing.
The Frostlight Core is gone.
And in the darkest corners of New Haven…
A rumor begins to spread.
“Viktor Riddle stole a city’s worth of light.”
“The Nightmare Child has a sun in his pocket.”
Nova Prime will never be the same.
