Buggy’s Lieutenants (AU Version)

Buggy’s Lieutenants (AU Version)

Cabaji the Acrobat

Flashy swordsman, circus act gone wrong.

Profile

  • Role: Acrobat & Swordsman of Buggy’s crew

  • Theme: Acrobatics, tricks, showy dueling

  • Personality: Smug, theatrical, competitive — obsessed with “fair fights” but cheats constantly.

Stats

  • AC: 14

  • HP: 85

  • Speed: 35 ft.

  • Attack: +5 to hit, 3d8 slashing (Sword)

  • Secondary Attack: +4 to hit, 2d6 (Throwing Knives/Juggling Blades)

Abilities

  • Acrobatic Flourish (1/turn): After attacking, may move 10 ft. without provoking opportunity attacks.

  • Dazzling Spin (Recharge 5–6): Forces enemies within 10 ft. to make a DC 13 Dex save or be disoriented (Disadvantage on next attack).

  • Performer’s Pride: If Cabaji is being directly observed by civilians, he gains Advantage on one attack per round (showboating).

DM Notes:

  • Use Cabaji as the “flashy duelist.” He’s fast, unpredictable, and loves to fight one-on-one.

  • Great warm-up mini-boss before Buggy appears.

Mohji the Beast Tamer (with Richie the Lion)

Loud tamer, coward without his beast. Relies on Richie for brute force.

Profile

  • Role: Tamer with a lion companion

  • Theme: Brute force and intimidation through animal handling

  • Personality: Arrogant when Richie is around, cowardly without him.

Mohji’s Stats

  • AC: 12

  • HP: 70

  • Attack: +3 to hit, 2d8 (Whip or Club)

  • Ability: Beast Command (Bonus Action) → Richie immediately makes one attack.

  • Cowardly: If Richie is defeated, Mohji must make a DC 12 Wis save each turn or flee.

Richie the Lion (Companion)

  • AC: 13

  • HP: 100

  • Speed: 40 ft.

  • Bite: +5 to hit, 3d10 piercing

  • Claw: +5 to hit, 2d8 slashing

  • Ability – Ferocious Pounce: If Richie moves 20 ft. straight toward a target and hits, target must succeed DC 14 Str save or be knocked prone.

DM Notes:

  • Treat Mohji and Richie as a duo encounter. Richie is the real danger; Mohji just boosts him.

  • If players target Mohji first, Richie goes berserk for 1d4 rounds (attacks nearest creature, friend or foe).

Using Cabaji & Mohji in Orange Town (Episode 1)

  • Cabaji works great as a flashy warm-up duel before Buggy appears. He can even “challenge” a PC to a duel in the middle of chaos.

  • Mohji & Richie are better for a chaotic street brawl, forcing the players to work together to take down a huge beast.

  • They can appear separately (different fights) or together for a “circus trio” fight before Buggy himself shows up.
