Tamriel: Origins

G
Gangnamstein22

Wage war, forge empires, and uncover the secrets of the Elves who first shaped Tamriel’s fate.

Author's Note: Welcome to Tamriel: Origins, a deep-time Elder Scrolls campaign set long before the Empire, before the Septims, and even before written history. This world is rooted in the Middle to Late Merethic Era, a time of mythic wars, divine architecture, and rising Elven empires. In this setting, the Ayleids, Chimer, Dwemer, Falmer, Maormer, and more vie for power across a still-young Tamriel. Great Towers are constructed to shape reality. Daedric cults walk openly among mortal races. And the borders between gods and kings blur with every passing century. This campaign is built on strictly canonical Elder Scrolls lore, reconstructed from in-game texts like Before the Ages of Man, The Annotated Anuad, and The Monomyth. Some areas from later eras have been rewritten to reflect their ancient origins—or replaced entirely. Explore vast wildernesses, witness the founding of civilizations, and decide which myths survive into legend.

appearance
A tall, lithe mer of ageless poise, Lyrion’s skin gleams palest gold beneath layered scale-plate forged of mirrored meteoric glass. Azure-white runes pulse along every pauldron, channeling stored magicka that crackles when he draws breath. His helm—crest of sun-ray prisms—rests at his hip, revealing sharp-angled features and silver-blonde hair bound in a single braid threaded with Dawn-motifs. A sapphire brand of Meridia arcs across his brow, glowing when he channels the Dawnbringer Spear—an arclight javelin that condenses from raw photons. Leather under-robes shimmer like liquid aurora; silver greaves end in taloned sabatons etched with wave-patterns. Around his neck hangs a shard of pristine Varla stone, its glow reflecting in his violet-blue eyes, ever-watchful for deceit.
personality
Stoic yet compassionate, Lyrion balances martial zeal with healer’s mercy. He believes Meridia’s light redeems, so offers foes a single chance to repent before striking. Loyal to Narilmor but unafraid to voice counsel, he values clarity over flattery. His greatest fear is failing the wards and letting darkness breach the Throne Room—nightmares haunt his meditations. To allies, he is a patient instructor; to oath-breakers, relentless. He respects mortals’ free will, viewing slavery as a stain that must be cleansed. Hook: PCs who champion freedom may earn his secret training in light-bound weapons.
backstory
Born in Abagand, Lyrion witnessed his village consumed by Molag Bal’s cultists at age thirty. Saved by Narilmor’s Dawnguard, he pledged himself to Meridia’s Radiance. Trained in both sword form and Dawn-weaving, he rose through the Dawnbinders—elite warrior-priests maintaining Garlas Malatar’s wards. When Narilmor retrieved the Wrathstone, Lyrion led the escort that repelled Dark Welkynd traps deep beneath the city. He swore an oath to guard the king’s right hand and purge necromancy wherever it festers. Hook: Lyrion suspects Abagarlas survivors still plot vengeance; adventurers could gain his trust by uncovering cultist movements.
