Tamriel: Origins

G
Gangnamstein22

Wage war, forge empires, and uncover the secrets of the Elves who first shaped Tamriel’s fate.

Author's Note: Welcome to Tamriel: Origins, a deep-time Elder Scrolls campaign set long before the Empire, before the Septims, and even before written history. This world is rooted in the Middle to Late Merethic Era, a time of mythic wars, divine architecture, and rising Elven empires. In this setting, the Ayleids, Chimer, Dwemer, Falmer, Maormer, and more vie for power across a still-young Tamriel. Great Towers are constructed to shape reality. Daedric cults walk openly among mortal races. And the borders between gods and kings blur with every passing century. This campaign is built on strictly canonical Elder Scrolls lore, reconstructed from in-game texts like Before the Ages of Man, The Annotated Anuad, and The Monomyth. Some areas from later eras have been rewritten to reflect their ancient origins—or replaced entirely. Explore vast wildernesses, witness the founding of civilizations, and decide which myths survive into legend.

appearance
Ra’zhado is a lithe Cathay-raht standing just under two paces tall, his tawny fur striped with umber whorls that frame sharp amber eyes always half-lidded in amused calculation. Gleaming gold rings adorn his tufted ears, each etched with trade sigils. A sleeveless indigo vest woven from Senchal silk shows off corded muscles and conceals coin-pockets inside patterned lining. A belt of braided moon-sugar reeds supports curved daggers with bone hilts, a scroll case sealed in bronze, and a jangling ring of brass caravan tokens. His tail tip is wrapped in crimson ribbon—a Baandari sign of safe passage—and scented with moon-lotus oil. Dusty travel boots rise to the knee, stitched with pearl beads that glint like stars when firelight strikes.
personality
Charismatic and adaptable, Ra’zhado prizes mutual profit over domination. He abhors cruelty—Varian’s lashings tighten his jaw—and quietly slips surplus grain to slave children. Eternally curious, he collects foreign proverbs and will trade rare inks or star-charts for a new tale. Distrusts rigid hierarchies; sees Narilmor’s court as a glittering cage. Values loyalty: Brynna’s spear, Firalin’s bread, Velasinde’s scholarship are investments of the heart. Quick to joke, quicker to vanish if a deal sours, he nonetheless dreams of founding a neutral bazaar where mer, man, and beastfolk barter under the moons.
backstory
Born beneath the waxing Jone in Anequina, Ra’zhado took the Baandari vow to “walk the bright path of trade” at thirteen. He apprenticed on spice caravans from Dune to Rimmen, learning to read desert winds and border tariffs. During a skooma raid, he saved Brynna of the Kreath by smuggling her past Ayleid patrols—a debt she still honors as bodyguard. Word of Garlas Malatar’s hunger for exotic goods drew him north; he now negotiates custom tolls with Quartermaster Arinwe and bribes Captain Erendil for swift docking. Hook: Ra’zhado secretly ferries outlawed texts for Archivist Velasinde; a misplaced scroll fragment could expose both to royal wrath.
