Author's Note: Welcome to Tamriel: Origins, a deep-time Elder Scrolls campaign set long before the Empire, before the Septims, and even before written history. This world is rooted in the Middle to Late Merethic Era, a time of mythic wars, divine architecture, and rising Elven empires. In this setting, the Ayleids, Chimer, Dwemer, Falmer, Maormer, and more vie for power across a still-young Tamriel. Great Towers are constructed to shape reality. Daedric cults walk openly among mortal races. And the borders between gods and kings blur with every passing century. This campaign is built on strictly canonical Elder Scrolls lore, reconstructed from in-game texts like Before the Ages of Man, The Annotated Anuad, and The Monomyth. Some areas from later eras have been rewritten to reflect their ancient origins—or replaced entirely. Explore vast wildernesses, witness the founding of civilizations, and decide which myths survive into legend.

Aric is a wiry youth of twenty summers, sun-browned and long-limbed from years poling skiffs against the current. Chestnut hair is tied in a short tail; a trimmed beard frames a ready grin. He wears a sleeveless leather jerkin cured with marsh herbs, over wool linen wraps. Reed-plait sandals and a knotted green scarf complete the understated look. Grey eyes observe like a heron—patient, alert. Gear includes a yew short-bow, quiver of barbed river-arrows, and a bronze-capped walking staff that doubles as a polearm.

Quietly resourceful, Aric values freedom and loyalty above coin. Prefers negotiation over bloodshed but will strike unflinchingly to protect innocents. Distrusts highborn arrogance, yet shows courtesy to honest scholars and priests. Craves stories of distant rivers; sketches new fish species in a leather notebook. Secret fear: failing loved ones again.
backstory
Raised among fisher-folk who pay tribute to distant Ayleid lords, Aric learned stealth and survival guiding smugglers through reed-choked backwaters. When a royal levy seized his sister for the slave quarries of Garlas Malatar, he swore to find her. With only a crudely sketched map, he joined a Baandari caravan as a guard, hoping to gather intelligence on slave routes. Aric’s respect for river spirits makes him wary of Meridia’s followers, yet he’ll ally with any who oppose tyranny, seeking fellow adventurers at the Coastway Caravan Rest.
