Description

The Isle of Balfiera, also known as Balfiera Island, is a significant island chain located in the northern part of Iliac Bay, consisting of at least eight islands. In the late Third Era, its largest settlement was Upvale, dominated by the Lyrezi vampire bloodline, with Akatosh revered as the regional deity. Historically, Balfiera served as a neutral ground for negotiations and treaties among the kingdoms of High Rock. The island’s most notable landmark is the Direnni Tower, the oldest known structure in Tamriel, believed to have been constructed by the gods themselves as a site for divine negotiations. The title of Castellan of Balfiera was granted to its ruler, reflecting the ancient command of the tower.
