appearance
Thalras is tall, with deep purple skin that contrasts against his stark white hair, which falls loosely around his angular features. His golden eyes glow faintly in dim light, an indication of his magical affinity. He wears flowing black robes with silver embroidery that subtly resemble skeletal hands reaching up towards his shoulders. A small silver pendant shaped like a raven’s skull hangs from his neck, an omen of his affinity for life’s delicate balance. He carries an ornate staff made from bone, tipped with a glowing black crystal that seems to pulse with life.
personality
Thalras is calm, reserved, and often speaks in a manner that suggests he is contemplating both the present and the afterlife. He is neither cruel nor sadistic, but his studies of necromancy have led him to view death as a natural part of life. He is not quick to anger, preferring instead to think things through, but when provoked, he can be unexpectedly blunt or cold. Though many fear his affinity with death, Thalras is deeply philosophical, with a quiet reverence for the souls that pass through his magic. He keeps his distance from others emotionally, not out of malice, but because of the nature of his studies. Despite his often detached demeanor, Thalras harbors a desire to protect those he serves, though he sees life as fragile and constantly at risk of slipping away.
backstory
Thalras was born into a powerful family of sorcerers, but his studies diverged into a darker path when he became fascinated by the transient nature of life and death. Rather than focusing on power for its own sake, Thalras seeks to understand and maintain balance between life and death. His necromantic magic is less about reanimating the dead and more about communing with spirits, seeing death as another form of existence to be respected. Though many fear his magic, Thalras believes that death itself can offer valuable knowledge, guiding his decision-making in ways few others can comprehend. He joined the Circle after years of refining his understanding of the natural cycle, and his abilities are considered invaluable in maintaining Levithal’s arcane integrity.
