Vaelar is a majestic saber-toothed tiger, larger than any natural feline, with sleek fur that shimmers subtly like starlight through fog. His coat is a pattern of silvery-grey and muted charcoal, mottled like moonlight on leaves. His long, curved fangs gleam with a pale ivory hue, and his luminous silver eyes seem to glow faintly in darkness. Despite his size and power, his movements are utterly silent—each step deliberate and ghostlike. His presence alone carries an aura of reverence, as though he has stepped out of some ancient elven tale and into the waking world.

Silent, watchful, and wise beyond the nature of beasts, Vaelar exhibits a calm intelligence that borders on the mystical. He is slow to trust others but fiercely loyal once bonds are formed. He senses danger before it arrives and comforts the wounded with quiet presence. In battle, he becomes a terrifying force—fast, graceful, and utterly merciless to those who threaten the Mist Woods or Liandra.

Vaelar appeared during a moonless night as Liandra meditated in the upper reaches of the Mist Woods. First seen in a dream, he emerged from the shadows as if summoned by her unspoken need. Though his origins remain a mystery, the druids believe he is no ordinary beast but a guardian spirit of the forest, reincarnated in mortal form to serve alongside the High Ranger. Since that night, he has never left her side. He moves where she moves, hunts where she hunts, and vanishes into the mist as easily as he came. Vaelar is not bound by leash or command—he is a willing companion, connected to Liandra by something deeper than training or magic.
