Dinah Laurel Lance grew up in the shadow of her mother, the original Black Canary, and was inspired by her bravery. After rigorous training in martial arts, she took up the Black Canary mantle to fight crime. Despite facing tragedy early in her career, she became a key member of superhero teams like the Justice League and Birds of Prey, and has a notable romantic link with Green Arrow.
