The War of the Ring

Middle-earth during the events of The Lord of the Rings.

Author's Note: WIP. This is my first attempt at a world so it might not be that good but I'm curious what people think of it so far. I want to create a campaign close to the quest the Fellowship embark upon in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I eventually want you to be able to choose a character from the members of the fellowship and destroy the Ring by throwing it in mount doom.

Description

Mount Doom, also known as Orodruin and Amon Amarth, is a volcano in Mordor where the One Ring was forged by the Dark Lord Sauron, and accordingly the only place in which it could be destroyed. It stands about 4,500 feet with its base about 3,000 feet tall. It is connected to Barad-dûr through the steaming fissures of Sauron's Road.

Appearance

Sinister peaks loom against a backdrop of a blood-red sky, with rivers of molten lava winding down the rocky slopes, and dark smoke billowing from the crater, casting eerie shadows over the land.
