A cautious and wise man, Holtip is slow to action, ensuring every action be deliberate. He has an immense care for the men under his command, often doing all he can to ensure minimal friendly losses in battle.

Born to a well of family, Holtip was sent to a prestigious military academy at a young age. Initially, he treated all his men as expendable in hypothetical war games at the academy, favoring an aggressive strategy. It wasn't until after his first ever battle that he did a complete reversal, starting to favor a more defensive and cautious approach. The memories of The Battle of Bakersfield, his first ever battle, still haunt him to this day, as he sent wave after wave of Holder infantryman directly into the heart of the local Darkness infestation. None the less, the Government needed a win for propaganda at the time, and so they portrayed his phyric victory as an overwhelming triumph. This skyrocketed his reputation as a strategic mastermind, a somewhat underserved accolade, at least at the time. His reputation would get him put into several other active combat roles, in all of which he focused on defense and caution, ensuring minimal casualties. Now he's in charge of Fort Tyroth.
