Chalcoztlan is a fortress-city and the military capital of the empire, centered around a colossal obsidian pyramid. The city is alive with the sounds of martial drills, the clanging of weapon forges, and the roars of the crowd in brutal gladiatorial arenas, where warriors train and fight for glory and survival. Residing here are: Jaguar Knights & Eagle Warriors train in sacred war academies, weapon smiths and armorers create obsidian-bladed macuahuitl and golden shields, and slaves and captives are prepared for gladiatorial trials and sacrificial offerings.

Huey Tochpan (The Great Scorched Basin) is a vast, desolate stretch of land, once fertile and thriving, now a cracked wasteland of obsidian and ash. Legends say the gods punished this land during the war between the Fourth and Fifth Suns, scorching it with divine fire. The ruins of abandoned step-pyramids and forgotten temples stand as skeletal reminders of a lost civilization, while sulfurous geysers and rivers of volcanic glass cut through the terrain. Residing here are: -Chichimecatl Raiders – Nomadic warbands who survive by raiding empire caravans. -The Tlatcani (The Burned Priests) – Scarred mystics who believe the land still burns with divine judgment. -Ash-Ghosts – Souls of those sacrificed in the gods’ fiery wrath, who rise on moonless nights to claim new victims.

Mecatl, a lush world of ancient city-states, is dominated by the theocratic Nahuatlan Empire, ruled by priest-kings. With a structured society and diverse cultures like Tonaltoca and Quetzalcohuatl, tensions rise as the Sun weakens and rebellions emerge. Current period is "The Fifth Sun," it follows the creation of a new sun after the Fourth Sun's destruction. Gods Nanahuatzin and Tecciztecatl sacrificed themselves to become the sun and moon, with the latter's light dimmed by gods to prevent rivalry. The sun remained stationary until further divine sacrifices moved it, emphasizing the Aztec belief in the necessity of constant sacrifice to maintain cosmic balance.

Mictlampa (The Shadowed Lands), is a vast field of cracked earth and sinkholes, where the boundary between the living and the dead is weak. This region is riddled with cenotes, deep caves, and burial grounds. At night, strange lights flicker in the air, and whispers rise from the earth itself.

Once a thriving center of divine communication, this overgrown temple city is now a haunting reminder of its past glory. The shifting walls and ominous sky omens create an atmosphere of dread, as whispers of the Fifth Sun's end echo through the air, drawing in seekers of truth and guardians of ancient knowledge. Resiing here are: monks & oracles who read the stars and interpret omens, outcasts, exiles, and visionaries seeking divine enlightenment, and spiritual warriors who guard the sacred codices and hidden prophecies.

Tecuani-Tlalicpac (The Land of the Howling Beasts) is a rugged highland jungle, where massive beasts still roam freely. Imperial hunters frequent these lands, seeking rare pelts, venom, and trophies. However, many believe that the gods placed these creatures here as guardians—and that killing them invites divine wrath. Who Lives Here are: The Tecuanime (Beast-Speakers) – Warriors who bond with great predators and refuse to harm them. Noble Hunting Guilds – Rich warriors who hunt for sport and prestige. The Last Coyotl Clan – The remnants of an exiled people, who live hidden among the beasts.

Tenotepec is a grand city built on a shimmering lake, featuring lavish temples, bustling markets, and towering pyramids. Beneath its beauty lies a network of corruption and rebellion, with slums and canals hiding dark secrets. Nobles & Priests rule from sunstone palaces, maintaining the empire’s rituals.Merchants, scribes, and artisans sell their wares in the vast Xochitl Market.Warriors & Jaguar Knights train in sacred military academies, preparing for battle.Commoners & laborers live in floating districts, often working in the canal trade.

Once a grand temple dedicated to Xipe Totec, this pyramid now stands as a cursed monument to madness and despair. Its stone walls bleed a crimson ichor, and those who dare to enter are haunted by visions of their own demise, as whispers of the flayed god echo through the halls. The air is thick with the scent of decay and the lingering presence of the forsaken. Mad priests and exiles who still worship the forgotten god. Outlaws and criminals hiding from imperial law. The cursed undead, who wander the ruins in torment.

The Central Region in Mecatl, known as The Lands of the Fifth Sun, is a vast expanse filled with towering cities, sacred pyramids, dense jungles, and ancient ruins. Ruled by the Nahuatlan Empire, this area is rich in culture, conflict, and mystery, making it the perfect starting point for adventurers.

Valley of Nahuatlan

The Valley of Nahuatlan is the political, military, and religious heart of the empire, where priest-kings rule and blood sacrifices are made to appease the gods. Massive causeways connect cities across shimmering lakes, and grand pyramids tower above, symbolizing the empire's might. However, beneath its golden facade, unrest brews with famine, failed rituals, and ominous prophecies of the Sixth Sun threatening the stability of this powerful realm.

Xicalco, The City of Glass

The ruins of a once-prosperous merchant city, now fused into obsidian from the divine fire that destroyed it. Streets of smooth, sharp glass reflect the ghostly mirages of the past, confusing travelers. Coatlapan, Chieftain of the Chichimecatl Raiders, seeks an artifact hidden within the ruins—a blade said to cut through time itself.

Xochpanitla

Xochpanitla

Xochpanitla (The Verdant Maw) is a lush yet deadly rainforest, where the empire’s control wanes. Xochpanitla is a holy but untamed land, filled with sacred springs, massive ceiba trees, and vines choking forgotten pyramids. The jungle itself is believed to be alive, with rumors of spirit-beasts, man-eating flowers, and whispers from the trees. Residing here are: -The Ehecatlani (Wind Walkers) – Reclusive Plumed Serpent shamans who guard ancient secrets. -The Ixcohua (Flower Jaguars) – Jaguar warriors who have forsaken the empire to serve the jungle spirits. -The Lost Villages – Communities swallowed by the jungle, their people now more spirit than human.
