Gatherer
Gatherers have all the qualifications of typical hunters, but choose to use their superior physical ability to go out into the field and gather things instead.
Handler
The Handlers are the ones who create the Quests most hunters take on. similar to scholars, they tend to study monsters, but more in the combat sense. a majority of handlers are paired with a hunter, whom they travel with for an unknown amount of time. a lot of handlers like to stay back while the hunters go and take on a quest, but some like to tag along.
Scholar
The Scholar is the job responsible for studying all monsters, Large and Small. they write reports, study samples sent by hunters, and prefer to stay inside, though that doesn't stop a certain few.
Bow
The Bow is a naturally fast weapon. Back until the 4th Generation, a common tactic for Bow is to "hit and run." But from the 5th Generation onward, Bow is now a fast, high mobility weapon that relies on a consecutive attack. Also, using the Bow requires the knowledge of the monsters' weak spots and elemental weaknesses to end the hunt faster.
Heavy Bowgun
The Heavy Bowgun is the ranged weapon of choice for those who wish to have as much firepower as they can, while still maintaining some distance. While much slower than their Light Bowgun cousins, they are the only ranged weapon that allows a shield to be attached, giving them guard capabilities. For an experienced gunner, this is more of a restraint since you can only attach a power barrel OR a shield.
Light Blowgun
The Light Bowgun is more elemental than its counterpart, the Heavy Bowgun. Heavy Bowgun is usually used as a "Main Gunner", while the Light Bowgun is a supporter. With light bowguns you can fire a plethora of elemental damage such as Thunder, Ice, and Water.
Insect Glaive
The Insect Glaive is a double-ended rod is capable of quick and fluid attacks. It also allows the hunter to pole vault at any time, allowing Jumping Attacks to be performed at will.
Charge Blade
Charge Blade is a weapon first introduced in Monster Hunter 4. This weapon is somewhat similar to the Switch Axe, with the ability to switch between two different weapon modes: the Sword Mode and the Axe Mode. Unlike the Switch Axe however, the user starts in a sword mode by default and each mode functions very different from the Switch Axe.
Switch Axe
A powerful melee weapon, capable of such momentum that the hunter swinging it is dragged around by the momentum of each swing. Described as a marvel of technology capable of phantasmagorical might.
Gunlance
Gunlances, also known as GL, are long, piercing weapons with a mechanism inside which can fire an explosive round. This is called Shelling. Unlike Bowguns, the Gunlance cannot fire over distances.
Lance
Lances are long weapons that can strike from a distance. The lance is always accompanied by a large shield which generally grants a powerful defense against most attacks. Although slow and difficult to travel with, the weapon's damage output can be impressive. Lances have different moves, such as the upstab, forward stab, and charging attack.
Hunting Horn
The Hunting Horn is a weapon first introduced in the second generation of the Monster Hunter series. It is similar to the Hammer in that it does impact damage and can stun a monster when it connects with the head.
Hammer
The Hammer weapon class is a fairly common weapon type able to be used by players since the first Monster Hunter game. Staunch and resilient, the hammer is perhaps the first representative weapon-of-choice to dictate pure, unadulterated damage directly to the target.
Longsword
Having moderately high attack power combined with mobility means having some drawbacks, however. Since its departure from the Great Sword family, the Long Sword has no ability to guard against attacks by any means, aside from the standard dodge rolls.
Greatsword
The Great Sword, a classic weapon first introduced in Monster Hunter, is a weapon capable of dealing massive damage.
Dual Blades
Dual Blades are a high speed class of weapon. Their small attack stat and inability to block is made up for by their high attack speed and wide variance in elemental damage and status effects.
Sword and Shield
The Sword and Shield is a weapon type introduced in Monster Hunter. It focuses on using a wide variety of elements or statuses to cause considerable damage.
