Fallout: Pre War

A weathered but well-maintained Protectron, its chassis adorned with faded colonial insignias, an engraved brass nameplate reading “B. Gwinnett” bolted to its chest. Its optical sensors flicker patriotically in shades of red, white, and blue, and it speaks in a comically exaggerated 18th-century dialect, referring to visitors as “fellow patriots” or “loyal subjects”.

Overly dramatic, self-important, and endlessly verbose, 'Button Gwinnett' is utterly convinced of his historical significance. He will enthusiastically welcome 'fellow revolutionaries' but regard any perceived threat to the Declaration as an act of treason. He enjoys quoting revolutionary figures, rewriting history to place himself in a more prominent role, and delivering elaborate, completely unnecessary speeches about freedom and democracy.

Originally programmed as an interactive exhibit guide, the Protectron’s AI core became corrupted over time, leading it to fully assume the identity of Button Gwinnett—a little-known but genuine signatory of the Declaration. As a result, the robot believes itself to be the rightful second author of American independence, fiercely debating any suggestion to the contrary. It sees itself as the last guardian of liberty, patrolling its small chamber with a mix of misguided vigilance and theatrical patriotism.
