Muv Luv Alternative: Desparation

A tall female pilot with long, knee length green hair (tied in a single hair-bun on occasion) and sharp green eyes. Fair skinned and with a lean build. She wears the uniform of the Royal Guard, red in color, representing her station as coming from a samurai family. Her uniform, fortified pilot suit, and her Type-00F Takemikazuchi all share this color as in accordance with the Royal Guard's standard.

Her personality is strongly shaped by her loyalty to Meiya and the Shogun. She possesses a stern attitude, and is much less tolerant of any possible threats towards Meiya. She is suspicious of anyone close to Meiya and is especially wary of Takeru Shirogane, as according to Imperial records, he should be legally dead from the BETA invasion of mainland Japan in 1998. Towards Meiya or Yuuhi, her temperament can relax to an almost motherly demeanor, a side rarely seen by outsiders.

Coming from a samurai family in service to house Koubuin, Mana and her cousin Maya served even before joining the Imperial Royal Guard as a retainer to Yuuhi Koubuin. Sent as a protector and tutor to Meiya Mitsurugi, as Yuuhi dearly loved her estranged sister, Mana has developed a deep loyalty to the two. Recently reassigned to once again watch over Meiya, during her training and stay at Yokohama. Respecting Meiya's wishes to be just as any other Cadet, she keeps her distance while still finding time to implore her charge to understand the Shogun's feelings. Until accepted by Meiya or recalled by Yuuhi, she will guard the Type-00R, as it is just as symbolically important as the Japanese national treasures. She also leads the 19th Independent Guard Flight who are stationed with her at Yokohama.
