A Lieutenant in the Royal Guard, Maya has served as the protector and retainer to the Shogun, Yuuhi Koubuin, since she was but an infant. Unquestioningly loyal to the shogun, she will oftentimes act from the shadows to benefit her charge, even with unsavory methods.

A tall female with long, butt-length turquoise hair (can be tied in twin hairbuns when piloting) and sharp turquoise eyes behind smart wire framed glasses. She has a slim, athletic build. She wears the uniform of the Royal Guard during official duties, red in color to symbolize her standing from a samurai family, with a matching red fortified pilots suit and TSF. When "off duty" she wears a plainly maid's garb, tending to the Shogun, Yuuhi Koubuin.
personality
Were it not for customs and regulations for a person in her position, Maya's personality would be a foil to her charge, Yuuhi. Conniving, deceitful and sometimes even vicious in her mission to serve the Shogun, she often commits questionable acts from the shadows in order to help her master. When behind closed doors, she fusses over Yuuhi like a doting older sister.
backstory
Fiercely competitive with her cousin Mana Tsukuyomi; they both joined the Royal Guard and they both ended up as servants and retainers to Yuuhi Koubuin. While Mana was sent away on Yuuhi's order to watch over Meiya Mitsurugi, Maya remained close to continue to protect and tutor Yuuhi. Maya also commands the Shogun's personal body guards, a duty she takes extremely seriously.
