Before the BETA Invasion of Japan, Shizue Kyouzuka owned a cozy cafe near the Yokohama Base, where she served delicious meals and fostered a sense of community. When the invasion began, she fled to Kyoto for safety. After the reconstruction of the Yokohama Base, she felt a strong desire to contribute to the war effort and volunteered to work there as base personnel. Utilizing her culinary skills, she became a cook at one of the base's PXs, specifically catering to the 207th and other cadets in training. Although not a military member, the Special Wartime Laws granted her the rank of Provisional Sergeant Major, allowing her to maintain a casual and friendly demeanor with the pilots, especially the rookies. In honor of fallen pilots, she prepares their favorite dishes as a heartfelt farewell, ensuring their comrades feel comforted during difficult times.
