Author's Note: This is meant to be (hopefully) an entry point to the Muv Luv franchise, though with a few homebrew touches and additions from semi-relevant media. Experience an alternate timeline of Earth, where the Cold War never ended and an overwhelming extraterrestrial threat has Humanity on it's back foot. Less than 3 billion souls remain to hold the desparate resistance. Can you make a difference?
There is a template character for you to build your own, for the sake of story and consistency, you must assign a start location for this template to any starting "Base".

Kasumi Yashiro
Level 3 Human ESPer Officer -
A shy and timid sixth-generation esper left over from the Alternative III program, Kasumi is almost always found near or around Yuuko Kouzuki, her adoptive mother figuratively speaking. She actively assists Yuuko with her research and development towards Alternative IV by use of her telepathic abilities.

Sharp facial features, her light build and slim figure is often unnoticed through the particularly conservative UN uniform she wears, with extra fluff around the skirt's hemline and the length extended to her ankles. She near always has a mechanical bunny ear headband that parts her platinum hair into long twin tails, but whether it augments her ability or she just finds it cute is anyone's guess. While roughly the age of a young adult, Kasumi has the appearance of a pubescent teen, a result of Alternative III's gene editing prolonging the adolescence, lengthening the period that an ESPer's abilities peak.
personality
Shy and defensive around most people, being able to sense people's thoughts and feelings has made her a target of distrust by many. Physically a little bit clumsy. She's a kind, and caring soul, but emotionally stunted. She rarely speaks, but when she does it often comes out softly in monotone or emotionless, robotlike even. Most interactions will be interpreted by her subtle facial expressions and body language. She often draws pictures to illustrate the "readings" she gets from people.
backstory
A product of Alternative III, even among her brothers and sisters, Kasumi had exceptionally high abilities. Alternative IV was enacted before she would be sent to the Hives to try and get readings. Yuuko Kouzuki took her in to assist with the project, a rather impersonal arrangement. Her role is to communicate with the 00-Unit, the displaced brain of Sumika Kagami, retained in a tube in the lower levels of Yokohama. All high clearance research.
