Muv Luv Alternative: Desparation

D
DamascusActual

Immerse yourself in mankind's struggle against the BETA, piloting large mechs to even the odds.

Author's Note: This is meant to be (hopefully) an entry point to the Muv Luv franchise. Experience an alternate timeline of Earth, where the Cold War never ended and an overwhelming extraterrestrial threat has Humanity on it's back foot. Less than 3 billion souls remain to hold the desparate resistance. Can you make a difference? There is a template character for you to build your own, for the sake of story and consistency, you must assign a start location for this template to any starting "Base". Update: - Factions and assignments to related areas and POIs NEEDS: - Faction assignment for character roster - Additional factions - Timeline and plot lore (pending F&F lore tool update) *CONFIRMED COMING SOON

Description

The Tank Class is dangerous and overwhelming in great number, and it is always the second largest contingent strain of BETA in any assaulting herd. When faced with infantry, the Tank Class uses its massive jaws to bite through even the toughest materials, treating armored vehicles and bunkers as mere obstacles in its path. In large swarms, it can incapacitate larger machines by targeting their joints and vital systems, often leaving no survivors. - Swarm Tactics: The Tank Class can occupy another creature’s space. The Tank Class can move through any opening large enough for a Medium creature. When it is in the same space as another creature, it has advantage on attack rolls against that creature. - Crippling Assault: When the Tank Class hits a TSF with a melee attack, the TSF must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 16). While grappled in this way, the TSF’s speed is reduced by half, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls against the Tank Class.

Actions

Bite

The Tank Class takes a bite at an adjacent target with its massive jaws with +8 to hit. When hit, a target takes 2d12 piercing damage.

Rending Claws

Makes a melee attack with its claws out to 5 feet, dealing 2d8 slashing damage and potentially reducing the target's AC for the next turn.

Swarm Overwhelm (Recharge 5-6)

The Tank-class can use its action to move up to its speed and make a Bite attack against each creature it moves through. Each creature must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d8 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
