Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, the company devolved into severe financial pressure as a result of its involvment with the HI-MAERF, A-12 Avenger and YF-23 Black Widow II. Its merger with Boening came about as the purchasing of military craft was curtailed from the late 1980s, following the practical realisation of the G-Bomb. McDaell was responsible for the design and construction of the very first TSF: the F-4 Phantom. This one design was so prolific that even in the modern day, worldwide forces still use it in sizable number.
