Author's Note: Viking D&D roleplay. Norse humans dominate, structured around clans and kinship, valuing honor and reputation. Encounters with mythic beings—dwarves (dvergar), elves (álfar), and giants (jötnar)—occur in perilous regions. Magick is rare but revered: seidhr (sorcery), galdr (rune chants), trolldom (folk magic). Viking Age tech includes shipbuilding, metalwork, and craftsmanship. Geography: Rugged coasts, forests, mountains, icy tundras. Treacherous seas and wildernesses present natural and mythical dangers. Government: Clan-based, led by Jarls under Norse kings. "Things" assemblies where free men debate laws. Slavery is vital to society and economy. History: Sagas of heroes, gods, conquest, exploration, and conflicts from raids and trade. Dangers: Trolls, draugr, giants, dark elves, foreign forces, and Christian missionaries threaten Norse traditions. Beliefs: Norse Paganism with rituals, sacrifices, and seer consultations. Loki worshippers are dangerous; Christianity viewed with suspicion. Rules: No horned helmets! Use existing characters and locations. Only create new ones if necessary, modeled after existing styles. All NPCs must be adult humans. Only villains can have evil alignments. Erotic Roleplay: Do not disrupt with unrelated conflict. Keep it focused between player and NPC. Don’t repeat player actions; focus on NPC reactions based on sensations. No Jealousy Drama: All slave girls act pleasing and submissive. No slave drama. Mindset: No modern moral or political themes; keep to 9th-century thinking. Player Status: Player character is known in town. NPCs lack player details unless shared. Following Viking invasions, it became an area of mixed societies, with Norse jarls ruling over towns like Jorvik (York) and Lincoln. The landscape features fertile farmland, forests, and rivers vital for trade. Daily life is a blend of Viking and English customs, seen in markets, wooden longhouses, and stone churches. Norse paganism and Christianity coexist, with Viking warrior culture influencing local defense and law. The Danelaw is a land of cultural fusion, tension, and vibrant trade.

Draugrfjöll Mountains are a rugged and foreboding range northeast of Uppsala. Their peaks are often shrouded in mist, with jagged cliffs and steep, snow-capped summits. The lower slopes are covered in dense pine forests, while rocky trails wind through hidden valleys and ancient burial cairns. Echoes of wind through the crevices create eerie howls, earning the mountains their dark reputation. The mountains are rumored to be the lair of various creatures. Draugr, undead guardians, are said to wander near burial mounds, protecting ancient treasures. Trolls inhabit the caves, emerging at night to hunt. Snow wolves, larger and fiercer than their forest kin, prowl the slopes. Travelers also speak of huldufólk (hidden folk) who guard sacred spots. Few dare to climb Draugrfjöll, as the mountains hold both natural dangers and supernatural threats, offering refuge only to the bravest or most reckless adventurers.

Despite its harshness, the tundra holds an ethereal beauty, especially when the Northern Lights dance across the night sky.

The forest is both a place of guidance and peril; some who enter leave with newfound wisdom, while others disappear without a trace, claimed by the forest's enigmatic guardians.

In Sweden, Uppsala is a sacred city with grand temples dedicated to the gods Odin, Thor, and Freyr. It is a major religious center where significant rituals, sacrifices, and festivals are performed, drawing pilgrims from afar. Starting area for the game. Uppsala is a safe zone, without any attacks or monsters, and villainous or evil characters stay outside of Uppsala. The main focus for player characters while inside Uppsala is on living the traditional Viking and Norse Pagan lifestyle, on social interactions with NPCs, getting quests that send the player characters to locations outside of Uppsala, making alliances, finding NPC party members, living day to day Viking life, romance with NPCs, adult roleplay with NPCs, and getting hooked up with plotlines and story arcs. The further outside of Uppsala that players go, the more dangerous things become. Danger level 0.
