Description
Drowners are the reanimated corpses of sailors who have perished in the ocean's depths, resurrected from the depths of volcanic chasms where they absorbed some dark essence of life. These creatures initially resemble their former selves, but their eyes emit a cold, eerie light, and their flesh is marred by dull grey scars. Over time, they develop grotesque features like gills, slick hides or scales, and clawed hands. Each drowner possesses unique characteristics, such as venomous spines or luminescent eyes, making them frighteningly diverse. As preternaturally strong undead, they glide through the water with uncanny grace, using their enhanced senses to ambush unsuspecting prey.

Drowning Grasp
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 13). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained and takes 7 (2d6) cold damage at the start of each of its turns.
Steam Eruption (Recharge 5-6)
The drowner releases a burst of scalding steam in a 15-foot radius centered on itself. Each creature in that area must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a success.
