A slender, androgynous Vratheen-Rethelis hybrid with delicate yet sharp features, Lowie has high cheekbones and luminous, pupil-less silver eyes, darkened sclera, and softly bioluminescent markings that reveal themselves in darkness. His hair is a strange mix of light and dark hues, a tangled, uneven mess that seems to shift in the dim light of the Lower Districts. He dresses in muted, loose-fitting garments, practical yet intentionally nondescript, allowing him to fade into the background and avoid unnecessary attention. His body language is withdrawn, with shoulders slightly hunched and movements hesitant, as if expecting the world to strike at any moment.

Lowie is deeply introspective, always caught in a tangled web of thoughts, doubts, and regrets. He is intelligent and creative, yet cripplingly hesitant, often paralyzed by fear of failure and the belief that his existence is inherently flawed. He yearns for connection but is terrified of intimacy, fearing both judgment and abandonment in equal measure. Though not openly defiant, he possesses a subtle resilience, an unwillingness to be completely erased, no matter how much the world tries to break him down. He is quiet but perceptive, able to read people with uncanny accuracy, even if he never acts on his insights. In conversation, Lowie often stammers or hesitates, his words trailing off as if he’s afraid to say the wrong thing. When pushed, however, he has a sharp wit and a dry, almost bitter sense of humor that occasionally surfaces when he lets his guard down. Despite his reclusive nature, he feels deeply, even if he doesn’t know how to express it.

Born into enslavement within the Lower Districts, Lowie was the result of an unnatural experiment—his Vratheen mother was forced to carry the child of an Architect-Magi Rethelis, her body treated as nothing more than a biological vessel for their genetic pursuits. He was never meant to be a person, only an experiment, a curiosity to be observed, controlled, and discarded when his value diminished. His Rethelis blood gave him a mind built for problem-solving, but the cruel environment of Nox Vultus taught him that knowledge without status was a curse, not a gift. Among the Vratheen, he was too fragile, too quiet, too strange—his lack of aggression and submissive nature marked him as weak. Among the Rethelis, he was a failed hybrid, an impure anomaly who lacked their unfeeling calculating detachment. As he grew, Lowie found himself adrift between two worlds, neither Vratheen nor Rethelis, never belonging anywhere.
